Description: The student chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists is an officially recognized school activity for geological and environmental engineering and other interested students. Activities range from planning our Friday Seminar Series speakers to giving geology and engineering presentations in local public schools. Field trips to local engineering sites are also taken. The organization is open to any interested student and most of our student chapter members are student members of AEG as well.
Paleontology Club

The Paleontology Club at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology works to promote and educate in the field of Paleontology. The Paleontology Club is an educational, scientific, and non-profit organization dedicated to promoting paleontology in the community. Membership is open to all students with an interest in paleontology and its related fields. The club sponsors monthly meetings, guest lecturers, field trips, and outreach activities at the Museum of Geology and in community classrooms.
Society of Economic Geologists Student Chapter

SEG aims to provide its members with a variety of fun and service activities that promote knowledge of mineral deposits and mineral resources, and to help students develop professional knowledge and ethics in preparation for careers in economic geology. The chapter plans field trips to regional mines and other localities, visits schools to interest students in geology careers, raises funds for member activities, and sponsors the weekly refreshments at the Friday seminars.

Tech Geological Association

Description: TGA promotes student involvement in professional associations while providing a focus for fun and profession-building activities. Each student in TGA must belong to at least one professional organization whether it is one of the ones on this page or another one suited to their interests. TGA is newly reconstituted from a hiatus and moving forward towards a fun and educational future.
